Alienware Alpha Console

Alienware Alpha (Console)

If you are a real gamer or a game addict,  then you have to wait a little more  to get a perfect  game console because its time to forget about steam machines when Alienware and Dell together has created a MONSTER (Alpha PC console).

The Alpha is generally a gaming pc with low, medium, high specifications combined into a portable and easy to use box. It can be directly attached into a television through an HDMI cable. To sign in and play games together , players have to sign into Valve’s PC digital distribution network, then set the setting according to their comfort (desired size and brightness level of their display)then few other prompts — and they are in. The Alpha comes preloaded with Windows 8.1 and can not play games outside of Steam while in console mode. To play games you have to boot Alpha in console mode and to use as it as a desktop you can use the desktop mode.

The basic version of the Alpha has an Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB RAM, and a 500GB hdd, with an integrated Nvidia GPU. There will be more configurations available with Core i5 and i7 CPUs, up to 2TB of storage, and up to 8 gigs of RAM (with two slots that support up to 16GB total). You can also upgrade all those components manually if you want.
To play games you can use the included wireless Xbox 360 controller for Steam’s controller or a mouse and keyboard. There are two USB 2.0 ports on the front of the Alpha box, and couple of  USB 3.0 ports around its back. This Alienware Alpha box is compatible with any Windows-compatible peripherals, including Bluetooth headsets and keyboards. It’ll also work with Xbox One gamepads, although only a single Xbox 360 controller is included with the Alpha.

Alienware Alpha, the “Steam Machine that totally isn’t a Steam Machine because it runs Windows,” is now available for orders. The box retails for $550 and includes a wireless Xbox 360 controller. The first look of  Alpha's UI in San Francisco had a great response and the keyword used there is "Console".

Alienware has collected all the things you mostly need when setting up a new computer with a controller-friendly interface. Defining the settings for console mode (setting the display resolution, desired size, configuring audio settings and many more ) you can still have the tough time to understand some basic settings after the initial set-up, and shut down the machine with just a controller attached with Alpha. This Monster(Alpha) keeps Windows drivers and graphics drivers updated automatically, also you can do the update manually, though you can ofcourse adjust those settings.
Now the main console mode page is limited with few settings like Power options, and Steam and a settings tab, though Alpha have many shortcuts later. Also Alpha is now with dual boot enabled , console mode and a desktop mode. Console mode is for games and desktop mode is to use Alpha as a PC.

Just one Steam box(Alpha ) and features are unlimited :

It combines the freedom of PC gaming with the ease of a console on the new Alienware Alpha. The customized Alienware UI provides easy access to thousands of Steam games right at your fingertips.
Power up with the Intel® Core™ i5 processor and kick the competition to the Hell.
