Zuckerberg calls Apple's stance on ads 'ridiculous'
CEO Mark Zukerberg and it’s Co-founder of Facebook apparently disagrees with Apple CEO Tim Cook regarding free games and apps that are ad supported which turn people into products by displaying them targeted ads to generate Maximum revenue.
Zukerberg said that “Apple’s products don’t care about its customers because if they’re expensive and if they cared about their customers those products would be a lot cheaper”. He also said that this type of online advertising to sell Apple products are ridiculous.”
“A frustration I have is that a lot of people increasingly seem to equate an advertising business model with somehow being out of alignment with your customers”.
He also said to the customers and end users, “it’s the most ridiculous concept. What you think because you pay Apple you’re somehow in alignment with them? If you were in alignment then they’d make their products much cheaper!’.
This was apparently in retaliation to an open letter posted by Apple on it’s privacy page in which Tim Cook said, “when an online service is free, you’re not the customer. You’re the product.”
